The Majors and Minors for all departments have been updated, and for the first time in the school's history, every department has a completable Major and Minor. Please remember that all students who are currently at Level 5 and below will have to follow these new version. Only students currently at L6 and L7 may graduate by fulfilling the requirements of previous versions.

I have an exciting new program to offer, which will start on Mabon. We will be offering "fast-tracking" of classes where faculty members will volunteer to grade all weekend every two hours during their normal waking hours, depending on the time zone they're in. This will enable students to get through some classes within a weekend, rather than taking WEEKS to complete the same class.
The program will be entirely voluntarily for faculty (I don't expect all faculty to participate), and not all classes will be able to be fast-tracked as some classes will still require mandatory observation/practice/reflection times, but we will try to give students as much notice as possible. For some faculty, this may only be a few days, for other faculty that may be a few weeks, and we ask that you understand that our faculty have busy lives outside of school. However, I think that even just having the guarantee that for a specific teacher and class, all assignments will be graded within two hours (or so) on a specific weekend, will be of much benefit to our students and hopefully get them to complete classes much faster.
Several Faculty have already agreed to participate and the schedule as of now looks like this (more than one faculty will be able to participate on any given weekend):
Sept. 21/22: Prof. Rainmaker; all classes
Sept. 29/30: Prof. Drakonya; classes TBD
Oct. 5/6: Prof. Sapphire Soleil; classes TBD
Oct. 12/13: no volunteer yet
Oct. 19/20: Prof. Kalla; classes TBD
For a more up-to-date listing of available teachers and classes, please check the forums!
I hope you will be as excited about this program as I am.

I am extremely excited to announce that the Practicums in the department of Alchemy and Magickal Sciences are now available, bringing the department a huge step closer to having a completable major (just a few more classes to go ...). I am extremely proud of Department Dean Stonetalker, who worked so hard over the last two days to meet this important departmental goal.

Now that the dust has settled a bit on the major changes we've implemented on the Solstice, let's return to our regular news. I am extremely excited to announce that the Practicum classes in Mathemagicks have been uploaded, making the Mathemagicks major completable. Well done, Dean Jymi X/0 aka Reverend Variable!

At the end of this month we will be retiring our current club system. Instead of having clubs that require membership and exclude large portions of the student population from fun and educational activities and conversations, we will be moving that activity into our department forums.
