Art Appreciation for the Wizard
Wizardry
(L3, 3c)
Sapphire Soleil
Syllabus and Introduction
Art, in its many forms, can and should compliment any wizard’s
magickal workings. Not only can it help decorate the walls of a room,
art can expand the mind, foster critical thinking, help define and
refine opinions, and spark deeper meditation.
In this course we will focus on the fine art of paintings, both
classics and modern work. One must understand the foundations of art to
appreciate the artist’s point-of-view when he or she deviates from that
foundation. It will serve apprentice wizards well to know why they like
a piece of art, rather than just that they like it!
Lessons
1) Why Art?
2) Why Study Art and Types of Art?
3) The Alchemy of Paint—Art Media

the instructor if you have any concerns for alternative ideas.
Requirements—Computer good
enough to view pictures, paper, colored pencils or crayons or pens, a
